Where It All Began: The Shannon fraud detective series first began more than twenty years ago. The original collection, now known as Shannon Then, consists of four novels that introduced readers to the sharp-minded investigator, Shannon.
Years later, the series was revived and reimagined as Shannon Now, bringing the characters and storylines into a modern setting. This second chapter of the series now includes five novels. The inspiration for Shannon Now came from an unexpected source, my eldest daughter. A long-time fan of the original books, she was re-reading the series when she suggested that Shannon deserved more stories. She believed the character still had plenty of life left in him and simply needed another chance to shine.
Together, we wrote Blue on Blue, the first novel in the Shannon Now series. It was a true collaboration, with ideas, plotlines, and chapters blending so seamlessly that I'd challenge anyone to identify which parts were written by which of us.Following Blue on Blue, I continued the series on my own, adding four more novels.
Even so, each manuscript still made its way to my daughter, whose thoughtful feedback remained an invaluable part of the writing process.
